Stephen Hendry admitted last night that he could quit the game.

The seven-time world champion made the last 32 of the World Open in Glasgow after beating Bjorn Haneveer 3-0. But Hendry, 41, slammed the new ranking system which could see him lose his place in the top 16.

He said: "If I fell out of the 16 I'd have to think about it all. The new tournaments haven't reignited my passion. I don't want to play in them."
