Shaun Murphy avenged his Crucible final defeat to Stuart Bingham by winning a deciding-frame contest to lift the World Grand Prix title in Llandudno.

Bingham overcame Murphy 18-15 to become world champion last May, but it was Murphy who held his nerve this time to win 10-9.

Murphy had looked in total command after taking a 4-1 lead but, in a scrappy contest, Bingham hit back with four frames in a row to take a 5-4 advantage at the break.

In the evening session Murphy took control to go 8-7 up, but Bingham cleared the colours in a lengthy next frame to level matters.

Murphy made a break of 120 under extreme pressure in the 17th frame - the first century break of the final - before Bingham took the 18th to ensure a winner-takes-all shoot-out.

The final frame was a disjointed affair but Murphy held his nerve to close out his first major event title since the 2015 Masters.
